Is DeRozan the Answer to the Raptors Finals Hopes?

Even with the recent scoring outburst from Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, the Toronto Raptors are still falling short of wins in the East. A loss to Cleveland, New York and Charlotte proves that DeRozan needs to do more as the teams franchise player. Yes he had 25 points against Cleveland and 30 points against Charlotte but it just wasn't enough. DeMar only had 6 rebounds and 6 assist combined in the two losses between the Cavs & the Hornets, both playoff teams. This proves that scoring is just not enough, he needs to be more involved in all aspects of the game if Toronto wants to get past the first round in the East. DeRozan has the same abilities as a Westbrook and may want to take a page or two out of his book so the Raptors have a chance to go deep in the playoffs. I understand that he is coming off injuries but if you can score you can rebound, assist, and play better defense. I expect his scoring average to go up at least 5 points from 18 a game to 23 or 24 a game from now until the playoffs. Also, he needs to grab 7 boards and get 6 assist consistently to solidify their chances of victory for the rest of the 2015 regular season. He currently averages 3 assist and 4 rebounds per game. This is where leaders are made and stars are born in the NBA, will DeRozan rise to the occassion like his dunks or shy away like a fade away jumper? By ATGS Jerod McCain 3/7/15
